Thanks for stopping by and joining in the CSL revolution.
ChineseSuperLeagueFootball.com is the brainchild of Danny Brogan and Daniel Newman.
Danny Brogan (co-Founder)
A qualified journalist with over 11 years experience, Danny is based in London. He prides himself on being able to name the starting eleven of every Premier League team in the 1994/95 season. When he’s not boring people about his failed football career he likes to spend his time watching box sets and drinking pale ale. He’s also an “expert” on Chinese football, according to talkSPORT.
Fact: Danny was once involved in a car accident with armed robbers. They never did catch the b*stards.
Daniel Newman (Co-Founder)
When Daniel was 18 years old, he packed his bags and went to learn kung fu in Shaolin. He never did get near achieving his dream of becoming the next Jet Li. However, he has developed his own unique style of Shaolin Soccer.
Since completing an MPhil in Modern Chinese at the University Of Cambridge, Daniel has lived in Shanghai for ten years. During his time in China’s financial centre he has founded a travel company called Newman Tours, and written a guide to Chinese Culture entitled Insider China.
Fact: Although Daniel isn’t Scottish, he was once hired by Chivas to travel around China in a kilt and give lectures on how to appreciate the finer points of whiskey.
Will wardrop (contributor)
Will is a budding sports journalist and recent MA graduate. He’s more likely to be found in the West Country than the Far East, but a passion for world football and vegetable spring rolls inspired his interest in the Chinese game. He had the honour of meeting his childhood hero – Swindon Town legend Super Sammy Parkin – earlier this year for a podcast he was presenting. He also deleted most of the interview by accident when his hero went to the toilet.
Fact: Will played once for his school football team and tripped over the ball with his first touch.
